New Zealand - Sharon Sims

The most successful kiwi women's player of all-time Sharon Sims boasts a bowls CV that very few players in the history of the sport could match.

A three-time world champion (triples and fours - 2000; pairs 2004) and Commonwealth Games pairs gold medallist (2002), Sims can also lay claim to seven Asia Pacific Championships medals and three national titles.

The best-performed player at the 2005 National Open Championships, she took the women's singles crown, finished in the last 16 of the pairs and quarter finals of the fours.

An international since 1993, Sims will be a force to be reckoned with on the quick New Zealand greens.  Sims is an active coach who enjoys introducing the sport to Secondary School students and helping new and promising players develop their game.

The Palmerston North resident is currently employed by Bowls New Zealand as a Community Development Officer promoting the sport in the Taranaki, Wanganui, Manawatu and Hawkes Bay Centres.
