Mort was a member of the Burnside Operational
Committee and fully involved in events from 2005
2008. For World Bowls he organised his walking
group to deliver letters to Burnside's neighbours,
stuffed envelopes, helped put together players
welcome packs, took a lead role in the set up of a
Traders Hall, organised and trained volunteers for
the tournament, was in charge of the PA system
and as a qualified International Umpire, he
officiated as a technical official (umpire and
marker) at World Bowls 2008.
