Cushla was a director of the Bowls Events NZ Board of Directors from 2000 to 2008.
As a director her role was one of contributing to governance and policy as each
International event (10 in all) led up to the pinnacle of World Bowls Championships
2008. During the championship she took responsibility for ceremonies and functions,
running a hosting room and looking after VIP's.
